Werner Van Steen,

After a first visit to Alaska in 1998, Werner decided to take up nature and wildlife photography after teaching himself the techniques, learning from books and practicing on his own. Not long after, World Wildlife Fund Belgium used his pictures for calendars and greeting cards and Werner was invited for numerous expositions both national and international.

In 2007, he got a Highly commended image in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest.

As a former free climbing champion, he most of all loves to photograph mountains but Werner can be found travelling all over the world in search for various nature subjects under the best light...

It is the only association of professional photographers in the fields of wedding, portrait, publicity, industry and retail.

Als explorer gewapend met lichtsterke lenzen brengt Guido Sterkendries de Amazone in beeld in al haar vormen en kleuren,  vanuit zijn visie. Een visie die minstens buitensporig te noemen is voor dit tijdperk, daar hij tijdens zijn exploratietochten wordt aanzien als één van de meest gedreven en geëngageerde extreem natuurfotografen. Hij beperkt zich niet tot het schieten van mooie plaatjes, maar hij behandelt voortdurend kritisch, de ecologische, economische en culturele problematiek van de Amazone.

Belgium talented nature and wildlife Photographer Werner Van Steen, had a winning image in the prestigious European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011 photo contest.

His picture of a lavafield was selected out of 14.000 participating photos from 39 countries and became winner of the "Nature's Studio" category. He photographed these magnificent lava patterns inside the actif Nyiragongo volcano in Congo. Only about one and a half year ago, this place was not yet accessible due to poachers who had build their camp on the southern rim of this crater. Inside the 1km wide crater, at approximately 350m deep, a big actif lavafield can be found the size of two football fields. It is one of only four crater lakes on Earth so it is truly unique to witness it. With temperatures of about 1250°C, the lake was continuously moving and creating abstract formations.

Werner Van STeen travels the whole World; from the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean in search of a close encounter with the great White Sharks to the highest Mountains of the Himalaya.
