We would like to introduce the newest member of our SLR family - the Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 2,8/15 ZE and ZF.2 super wide angle lens.
This lens features a newly developed optical design and extends our range of current SLR lenses.
Highlights compared to other lenses;
Distortion is usually quite an issue with super wide angle lenses. The Distagon T*2,8/15 controls distortion extremely well, producing naturally proportioned images. The robust all-metal barrel of hte Distagon T*2,8/15 is designed for decades of reliable service. A long focus rotation and buttery-smooth action is perfect for photographers who want to take control of their picture making, as well as for filmmakers looking for superior focus control. The lens shade is integrated into the design and helps to protect the lens surface from unintentional damage. The 95mm filter thread accepts all standard filters, including the recently released Carl Zeiss T* UV and POL filters.

The trend of filming in high definiton using a digital SLR camera is unstoppable.
Moviemaking today is unthinkable without this technique, whether for independent filmmakers, television producers or professional still photographers who wish to expand their services.
This is why optics specialist Carl Zeiss now introduces the world's first set of cine lenses designed especially for HDSLR cameras: the Compact Prime CP.2 lenses.
Why change the mount on the camera when you can change it on the lens?
They’ve been to space; they’re Hollywood favorites; and they’ve been the constant companions of demanding photographers around the globe for 120 years — Carl Zeiss lenses.
The first photo lenses came on the market at the end of March 1890. On the occasion of its 120th anniversary, renowned German optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss, with key locations in Jena and Oberkochen, can reflect on a rich history and look to the future with confidence. Throughout the anniversary year, the company will be celebrating its breakthroughs in photographic technology with activities for both customers and the public. “Carl Zeiss lenses helped write photographic history. They have truly stood the test of time,” says Winfried Scherle, head of the Camera Lens Division.
Ulf Merbold: “Images of the Century" from Outer Space
ZEISS lenses delivered unique photos of the moon landing
OBERKOCHEN/Germany, 20.07.2009.
To this very day, photos taken during the Apollo mission to the moon still captivate millions around the globe. Forty years ago, Apollo 11 astronauts took the first pictures of their excursions on the surface of the moon – with camera lenses from Carl Zeiss. The definition, resolution and contrast rendition of the images are still as impressive as ever. These photos have played a key role in ensuring that NASA space missions have lost nothing of their popularity. They also made a deep impression on German astronaut Ulf Merbold.
